Allouez Village Band

Allouez Village Band

The Allouez Village Band was formed in 1981 by Robert Seering, a well-known and popular band teacher and performer in the Green Bay area. What started out as a meeting of 12 local musicians at Bob's home has grown into a concert band with over 70 members performing monthly concerts at the Meyer Theatre in downtown Green Bay and many other events in the Greater Green Bay Area.

Bob's successor, Mike Ajango, continues to carry on the traditions established over two decades ago. We never charge admission for our concerts, all members of the band are volunteers, and the band is dependent on donations from businesses and individuals. Please visit our "Support Us" page for more information on how you can help support our efforts.

The band has no residency requirement, no membership fee, and requires no auditions. In addition to our public performances, we promote local school music programs by collecting used musical instruments to be refurbished and provided to underprivileged school children. The Allouez Village Band works to promote awareness of belonging to a larger community, and demonstrates that committment through appearances at local functions. The band is a member of the Association of Concert Bands and was selected to perform at the National Convention in April, 2000.

Our Future

We are proud of the opportunity to promote the arts in Green Bay's Downtown Area, and prouder still of the support we have from local businesses and individuals that allow us to continue offering free public concerts. Our 9-month schedule consists of concerts from September through May at the prestigious Meyer Theatre in downtown Green Bay, Wisconsin. In addition to our Meyer Theatre concerts, the band presents a Christmas concert at the 2000-seat Weidner Center on the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus. Summer finds us performing at many civic functions. The Allouez Village Band has great confidence in themselves, their leadership, and their supporters to be able to continue performing for many years to come.
